Our first steps tour and our frequently asked questions will help you a lot after registration. They explain how to customize the interface (for example the language), how to upload files and our basic licensing policy (Wikimedia Commons only accepts free content).

You don't need technical skills in order to contribute here. Be bold when contributing and assume good faith when interacting with others. This is a wiki.

Getting help

More information is available at the community portal. You may ask questions at the help desk, village pump or on IRC channel #wikimedia-commons (webchat). You can also contact an administrator on their talk page. If you have a specific copyright question, ask at the copyright village pump.

Goodies, tips, and tricks
  • Put Babel boxes on your user page so others know what languages you can speak and indicate your graphic abilities.
  • You can find the files you have uploaded in your Uploads.
  • Please sign your name on Talk pages by typing ~~~~.
  • To link to an image page without embedding the image, type: [[:File:Foo.jpg]], which produces: File:Foo.jpg.
  • You may enable gadgets (custom features) for your account.
  • There are several tools to upload files.
  • Have you edited Wikipedia before? This guide might be useful.
Made a mistake?
  • Do you want to have a file renamed or moved? Use the move link and wait for an authorized user to rename it.
  • Do you want to have your recently uploaded picture removed? Tag it as {{speedy|reason here}}. For more information read the deletion guidelines.

Hi, danke dass du es angelegt hast. Momentan bin ich noch beim Durchschauen der Kats im Flensburgbereich, daher packe ich einige Sachen zeitweise in den Hauptkat. Ich werde Dir in den nächsten Tagen damit helfen können, dass ich die Kategorien in Flensburg etwas aufräume und auf den üblichen Standard bringe. Allerdings kenne ich mich in Flensburg nicht aus und kann daher nur die groben Dinge erledigen. Vielleicht hilt es Dir beim Kategorisieren aber schon, parallel in die Kategorien von Rendsburg zu schauen. Diese Stadt habe ich schon mal vorab aufgeräumt, bevor ich meine Bilder dazu hochlade. Gute Idee, schon von der Stadtgröße her, ich hatte schon bei Kiel geschaut. Was mir sonst schon aufgefallen ist: Es wird ein Kat für https://de.wikipedia.org/wiki/Paul_Ziegler_%28Architekt%29 benötigt, der hat z.B. das Deutsche Haus gebaut und den Burghof, da fehlt auch ein Kat. Unterkats werden noch bei den Events benötigt. Kat wird auch noch benötigt würde Fördewald und Ostseebad. Bei der Kat. Phänomenta ein Unterkat. für Flensburg. Dann noch ein Kat für die Duburg, Karstadt Flensburg, Dann von den Wohngsgesellschaft 1. Flensburger Arbeiter Bauverein, 2. Selbsthilfe Bauverein. Außerdem noch Kats für die Flüsse Mühlenstrom, Lachsbach, Glimbek, Lautrupsbach. Dann noch Flensburger Weihnachtsmarkt, wohl auch nach Jahren (wohl unter Events). Dann noch die Eddeboe (eine Burganlage von der man die Wälle noch im Wald Marienhölzung sehen kann) und eine Wasserburg namens "Brandplatz" wo man weitere Geländeformationen erkennen kann (Bilder Brandplatz kommen noch). Außerdem noch ein Kat. für den Hafermarkt. Ein Kat für das Rote Tor und die Norderporten (Vorgängerbau vom Nortertor). Eine Kat für die St. Gertrudkirche. Und dort wohl: https://commons.wikimedia.org/wiki/Category:Transport_in_Flensburg ein Unterkat für den ZOB und für die ehemalig Straßenbahn, sowie Freimauerloge (Flensburg) --- das Gebäude der Loge wird wohl von mehreren Logen benutzt, wenn ich das richtig rauslese. -- Dann auch noch eine Kategorie für den Stadtpark (unter nature of Flensburg) sowie eine Kategoie für die Rote Straße, wie wohl auch zum Kraftfahrtbundesamt. Das ist das was mir so spontan einfällt. Und der Kat: https://commons.wikimedia.org/wiki/Category:Films_set_in_Flensburg müsste glaube ich "Film sets in Flensburg heißen" und nicht "Films ...", wohl ein Tippfehler. So, nun habe ich etliche Flensburg-Kategorien aufgeräumt und überarbeitet, komme jetzt aber mangels Wissen an meine Grenzen. Für Dich bleibt also noch etwas übrig. Wie etwa auch die Fleißarbeit, möglichst alle Gebäude, Plätze, Parks usw. zu den entsprechenden Straßen zu kategorisieren. Auch scheinen mir noch nicht alle Baudenkmale aus den deutschen Listen hier in den Commons richtig kategorisiert zu sein. Schaue da bitte noch mal drüber. Copyright tag removal[edit]

I assume this edit was a mistake, with which you broke the copyright tag from the image I found in Category:Media without a license: needs history check today. Please be more careful when editing such image details because it could well have been deleted for lack of a licence except that I reviewed the history and found the problem. Umbenennungen[edit]

Hiho, ich habe deine Umbenennungsanträge alle augeführt. Allerdings würde ich dich bitten, dir das mit den Namen nochmal zu überlegen. Die sind arg discriptiv, das sind ja schon richtige Sätze. Noch dazu mit dem schrecklichen "welche"-Konstrukt, wo es ein simples "die" auch tun würd. In der aktuellen Form sind die Namen für eine Weiternutzung arg kompliziert. Ja, vielen Dank. War da auch schon nervös bei der Länge. In dem Fall wollte ich auf Nummer sicher gehen, dass da auf jeden Fall kein Mißverständnis aufkommt, dass das Bild nicht direkt auf dem Gelände, sondern direkt gegenüber aufgenommen wurde. Dadurch enstanden diese schrecklich langen Namen zur Abgrenzung, aber wohl auch die Müde der Nacht und einer Portion Galgenhumor. Das "welche" hätte ganz offensichtlich nun wirklich nicht sein müssen. Wohl zu lange gemacht heute. Ich muss drauf achten. Wenn ich an den Artikel Duburg-Kaserne rangehe, kann mich leider nicht auf alles gleichzeitg konzentrieren, und ich hoffe ich schaffe das, schaue ich nochmals rüber über die Dateien .... Ich will jetzt, nach drei Stunden Schlaf, mal schauen dass ich zum Neujahrsempfang gehe und noch Fotos mache. --Sönke Rahn (talk) 08:21, 12 January 2014 (UTC)[reply]
